Steam Vegetable Dumplings

This recipe and free video will help you to cook genuine Chinese steam vegetable dumplings from scratch.

Ingredients

A) 20 g mushroom, 30g Carrots and 30g Chinese cabbage, 3 pieces spring onion and 20 g black fungus / mushroom (or some kind of vegetable that you like ) finely chopped as ground paste.

B) Season the filling with 1 teaspoon oil, mix with all the vegetables, then add a few drops of sesame oil, 1/4 teaspoon ground peppers, a pinch of sugar,1 teaspoon salt.

Cooking Method

1. Oil the bamboo steamer (or any other steamer), then make the dumplings by wrapping the  finely chopped mixture with the dumpling dough (see the video below for the wrapping method) and put into the steamer.

2. Put the steamer on the top of boiling water. 

3. Cook for ten minutes.

4. Serve with the black vinegar, soy sauce and chilli sauce.

The way to make the dough for the dumping:

200g wheat flour, 100g water mix together, then put in a bowl or a plate, keep for another 2 hours , the dough should not be too soft.  Use a  rolling pin to make the thin dumping wrapper.
