To import a PDF file into iBooks for iPad, iPod & iPhone

How to Import a PDF file into iTunes for syncing with iPad, iPhone or iPod

1. Open iTunes
2. Go to File>add to library (or Command + O)
3. Select the .pdf file from the pop up menu
4. If you have not already synced books to iBooks, connect your iPad, iPhone or iPod to your computer, select it in the left hand menu and click Books from the top menu the book will be synced to your device

On your device, in iBooks, make sure you have PDFs selected from the Collection or Books / PDFs tab at the top.
