 What we do -

Help manufacturing companies to improve their business performance through better planning and control, in particular, better use of ERP (enterprise resource planning) & MRP (manufacturing resource planning) systems.

Get more from your ERP software

You will never hear anyone say after an ERP (enterprise resource planning) software implementation that they wasted time on too much education.  More often than not  people will say they would get more from their ERP system if they had more training and education both in the functionality of the software and, just as importantly, the way to better use the ERP system to meet their real day to day business needs, we call this Business Excellence.  Too often ERP software is just used as a transactional system to capture data and print paperwork, such a waste of time.

Even basic education in Business Excellence increases the chances of a positive return on investment from around 20% without education to 80% with education.

You can evaluate how well your ERP system was implemented with the free on-line ABCD checklist (see below).

If you would like to run a Business Excellence course in your company / country please contact BPIC.

See our 4 page Business Excellence Fundamentals brochure for course details.

The ABCD checklist developed by Oliver Wight in the mid 1970's is still the most widely recognised way to evaluate how well a manufacturing company plans and controls its business.  The ABCD checklist on this site is the most used of the many variants of the original checklist with over 1,000 new subscribers to the checklist each year.  Subscribers are offered a free assessment service and the results of their returns from 2001 to 2007 can now be seen at www.bpic.co.uk/abcd_analysis.htm.  There is also a printable .pdf version available at /abcd_analysis.pdf which also shows a breakdown between the UK, USA and the rest of the world's results between 2002 and 2007.

The analysis shows that in general manufacturing industry continues to use planning systems badly with no sign of any consistent improvement.
